What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed initiative tailored to UK small businesses, enabling them to protect themselves from cyber-threats.

How Mason Infotech helps with Cyber Essentials Certification

Designed as a foundational certification, Cyber Essentials serves as a strategic shield for businesses, equipping organisations with essential measures to ward off cyberattacks effectively. Cyber Essentials outlines key cybersecurity controls which are crucial for mitigating cyber threats. This initial certification acts as a proactive defence, shielding SMB organisations from around 80% of the most prevalent and basic cyber security breaches.

We help businesses to prepare for and achieve the Cyber Essentials Accreditation. This process involves guiding and supporting businesses across the UK through the certification from scoping the initial requirement through to certification itself.

The length of the certification process can vary, however, Mason Infotech usually helps businesses to go from the initial questionnaire to fully certified within a month. The discovery and assessment process takes 14 days, followed by a worst-case time period of another 14 days to hear if your application has been successful.

Cyber Essentials Consultancy Package

Our Cyber Essentials package includes full guidance and support throughout the entire process and includes.

Cyber Essentials Plus - The next step

Upon completion of the initial Cyber Essentials accreditation, organisations can move on to the Cyber Essentials Plus certificate. Cyber Essentials Plus is the highest certification offered by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and indicates that a business has high levels of technical capability when it comes to countering cyber threats.

The Plus certificate includes a technical audit, which involves assessing an organisation's external vulnerabilities, scanning their internal environment, and an on-site assessment. It covers both on-premise workplaces and any remote workplaces, as well as assessing third parties who may have access to your IT environments.

Mason Infotech has supported countless business through both certifications.
