Rutland County Council roll out new Unified Communications platform

25/06/2020

Following the successful deployment of a remote worker based call centre at the start of the Pandemic, Mason Infotech are delighted to announce that we have been asked to complete the deployment of a new hosted Unified Communications Platform for Rutland County Council.

Utilising the latest cloud based hosted communications platform from Cisco BroadSoft, Mason Infotech are set to roll out the service over the next month. The BroadSoft platform is recognised as an industry leading solution and is used globally with over 90m users subscribing to the service.

For Rutland County Council, the service will be configured to meet the varying requirements of the Councils 500+ employees. Catering for traditional based desk telephony along with remote/home and mobile workers, the implementation will revolutionise the Council's communications capabilities. Mason Infotech were able to deploy the initial remote call centre operation within 24 hours, a critical requirement servicing the Councils Customer Services and those identified as extremely vulnerable during the pandemic. The broader implementation will take a little longer, but we still anticipate completion of the project within a month, if not sooner. More information on this solution can be found on the Council's web site here.

Andy Nix, Head of IT and Customer Services at Rutland County Council commented;

"We're delighted to be working with Mason Infotech on this exciting project. Having completed two major projects with them over the last couple of years, we are very confident we will complete the implementation on time and reap the benefits a robust, flexible solution."

Stephen Mason, of Mason Infotech added ;

"Our relationship with Rutland County Council has developed over the last few years, delivering a variety of infrastructure projects with them. The remote call centre introduced in April accelerated a process we were already discussing and we are now well underway with the implementation."

The hosted solution adopted by Rutland County Council will help improve the Council's agility and ability to respond to future demands. Business Continuity will be enhanced with additional benefits gained around service management and management information.
